United States Postal Service Awards Pierpoint-Martin Web Tools Certification

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2004--Technology solutions and e-commerce outsource provider Pierpoint-Martin announced today that it has received certification from the U.S. Postal Service.

The U.S. Postal Service certification awarded to Pierpoint-Martin certifies Pierpoint-Martin as a U.S. Postal Service Delivery Confirmation Web Tools integrator.

As a certified Web Tools integrator, Pierpoint-Martin will now offer its clients the capability to integrate Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation, and Express Mail labels with their existing Pierpoint-Martin back end software as well as track and confirm delivery of packages -- while saving over a dollar an order.

Pierpoint-Martin is one of fewer than 50 companies certified by UPS for shipment integration, and Pierpoint-Martin clients have had the ability to ship and track UPS packages directly from Pierpoint-Martin software for several years. With this new certification, Pierpoint-Martin is now able to provide a similar capability for clients who need to ship and track First Class, Priority Mail, and Parcel Post packages.

The U.S. Postal Service offers a steep discount to shippers who take advantage of their electronic system, and packages shipped with Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation using Pierpoint-Martin software will be eligible for these lower electronic rates. This means, for example, that there will be no extra postal service charge for Delivery Confirmation service on Priority Mail packages when they are shipped using Pierpoint-Martin's proprietary electronic interface.
